Jacob at Golkonda Fort.Shiloh claims this is a modern day Samuel the Lamantite, a far east version.
The next two shots are of the girls humoring me. Caitlin and Becca had just climbed in the car to head off for the first day of school. I ran down the steps, waving the camera, motioning them out. I like how they color coordinated their first-day-of-school outfits.
And an hour later, Jaimee was ready for her first day of eighth grade. Wow! Her outfit coordinates with her sisters'. It's been years since they wore matching outfits, and this wasn't my doing.
Jaimee turned 13 on Sunday. I think her Dad is secretly delighted to now be living with three teenage daughters. She requested a fairly plain birthday cake this year, unlike the cake interpretation of Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" from last year. She just wanted a chocolate cake covered with a dark chocolate ganauche. More on substance and flavor than fluff this year.

She had a school project to complete this weekend. It included a poem about herself. She mentioned in the poem (in a very cute and clever way) that her parents are from Arizona, but that she is a real southern girl. Caitlin happened to find an article online about people born in the south to non southern parents. She shared part of it with Jaimee. "Just because a cat has kittens in an oven, it doesn't make them biscuits". So....there.
